Frozen consloe

I dont know if this is a question for this list but...

I have been using AfterStep since ver 1 pre2 under RedHat 4.2 without any major
problems. 1.4.5.55N6 ran quite OK. A couple of days ago i installed 5.1 from
scratch and suddenly AfterStep doesn't very stable. Netscape makes the system
freeze, and sometimes X dies. I think it is when java is involved. Applix also
makes the system freeze.

With RedHat 4.2 And AfterStep nothing like this happened for over 1.5 years. Now
I get several frozen consoles every session.

Can someone tell what might be wrong. Is it glibc, or kernel 2.0.34 or
AfterStep. Or a mix of all.

I will give RedHat anoter chance a couple of days, then I will downgrade back to
4.2 again.

And finally, can someone tell what's so great with glibc compared to libc?

Thanx in advance
Bo
