Stop moving your mouse. :) But seriously, it's a feature of your X-Server
called Virtual Screen (or something like that).  If you have XFree86, run
the Setup and disable this feature.  Or you can edit the
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config and change the "Virtual" section to the max
resolution that it above it under "Modes".  There are many ways to skin
this cat, if in doubt --> man XF86Config.
