Move / Resize bugs?

I haven't seen this topic go by, but if I'm off base... Let me
know. :)
Every once in a while (i.e. non repeatable) I've been having the
mouse jump when I'm moving or resizing a window.
For example, say I grab the bottom left corner of this xemacs window
(button 1 down). The second I move the pointer, the pointer will jump
to the top left, and I'll be "in control" of that corner. The same
with moving, I'll click on the title bar of a window, and the moment
the pointer moves, the window will move in a seemingly random
direction, a couple of hundred pixels...
I haven't found a way of repeating or better defining this yet. But I
thought it might be worth mentioning to the list.
This is with an un-patched version of 1.4.5.55N6, on linux 2.0.34, and
XFree86 3.2.2
