Audio problems

Hiya,

Finally managed to install my sound card but am having a few teething problems
with the AS Audio Module (RH5.2 running AS 1.5 with a 2.0.36 kernel). When I set
delay to "0" I get a thousand different noises like the sounds associated with
rapidly loaded events, eg. at startup, that have been queued and then played as their
turn comes along. Alternatively, if I set delay to "1" some sounds fail to play
for event such as deiconify. The former I can understand, the latter is a mystery
but neither are ideal.

Has anyone experienced and overcome this problem. Apologies if this has been
mentioned previously.
