xconsole config question

Hello-

I recently installed Afterstep 1.6.6 onto my SuSE Linux (2.0.35) PC.  I have
been pretty successful in configuring the window manager, but there are two
things I haven't been able to figure out:

1)  Is there a way to force my XConsole to place itself and "stick" to a
particular place on the screen.  It always defaults to the lower right corner,
when I need it to locate itself in the left corner.

2)  There is always a brown-textured pixmap for the background on the screen. 
I can't find where this is configured or how to change it.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!...julian
