Actually, your comments made me look for something I hadn't thought of
(for some reason).
What's actually happening is that Animate is dying.  After a restart, the
process is running.  However, later on the process is gone.  No core
file or anything...  (Would there be a log somewhere?  I don't see one)

Maybe next week I'll try...  Meanwhile, I'll live with it.  If it doesn't
work after the upgrade, I'll be back!
(If anyone wants to pursue _why_ Animate is dying with this version, to
ensure it gets fixed, feel free to get in touch with me.)
