Depends on your used feel file, by default it should work with
[CTRL]-[SHIFT]-[LEFT or RIGHT]

You can also put 16 pagers into your wharf ;-) but maybe it would make 
the wharf senseless. If you only need one pager than, I would swallow
it into wharf, if you need more I would put them alone somewhere

Yes, you have to put something like this into your /etc/X11/XF86Config 
Section "Screen"
Driver      "svga"
.
.
.
DefaultColorDepth 24 <--- That will change it
Subsection "Display"

But some apps got some problems with some servers in 24bpp (much
"somes") so maybe it would be a better (and slower) choice to use
32bpp. You can test it when you start X with "startx -- -24bpp"
