Well I've made progress : the messages already appear in the Eterm.
My system's configuration is slightly different from yours : console
is a link to tty0 which is a character device. Xconsole is a named
pipe. I tried all possible combinations of making links to each other
etc. but I actually only had to edit the /etc/syslog.conf file to
include messaging to /dev/console and it worked.
What I'm not succeeding in is how to get the menubar and the scrollbar
away. :((( I did copy the MAIN file (and the others) to an ~/.Eterm/
directory and I edited this file. I also start up with the right
options. And the database file contains a record as stated in your
first mail about this subject and the startoptions use this record.
But it doesn't seem to work.
When I start it from another console window, the menubar and scrollbar
don't show up, but when I start it from autoexec they still appear. I
don't know what the problem might be. Do you have any idea ?
