AS WWW/FTP/ML ... was FAQ directory/suggestion

Aloha Folks!

Pardon my quiet nature recently. For the past two weeks I have been
on a business trip. Times, they are interesting ;)

We actually need to address some broader issues as well. But first,
I have removed the "FAQ entry" in the mailing list footer. Since as
Dave points out, the URL that is currently referenced is out of date.

Here's the bigger/broader picture. The folks at Caldera like my work
and I like them, so I have taken a full-time position with them and
will be moving to Utah at the end of July. Yup, that's only about one
month away. The implications are that my computer systems here in
Hawaii will be going off-line within about two weeks.

So, we need to find new homes for the AS web pages and the mailing
list. I have spoken with the folks at Caldera and have gotten
approval to move the AfterStep mailing list to Caldera's public
machine. Makes sense, I take care of the mailing list for Caldera.
So I will continue to maintain the AS mailing list.

Comments? Objections?

On the issue of the AS web pages ... I have done a poor job on
coordinating the maintenance of these pages. Sorry about that.
So, we need a new host. Suggestions? Let me know and I will update
the DNS for afterstep.org to reference the new site.

I know how it happened, but it was odd sequence of events by
which I became the maintainer of the AS FTP site. The AS FTP
site is currently virtually hosted on Caldera's public machine.
And in my spare time (yeah, right :) I move files around. As
long as my *low* level of attention to this site is satisfactory
to everyone ... we're cool. Otherwise, we need someone with
more time, energy, spare cycles and/or motivation to establish
and maintain the AS FTP site.

Well that's a boat load of issues ... let the discussions begin!
