Ok, another question...

Wow, I didn't expect the sudden responses! Thanks!
Here's another question -- I'm running AS on a PII 233 128M RAM machine
with a Riva 128 AGP (4M framebuffer) at a resolution of 1024x768. The
virtual resolution in the XFree86 setup is also set to 1024x768, yet I'm
getting aweful graphics performance! (ie, I can see double-buffer
redraws, windows don't move or resize smoothly) Has anyone else run
into this problem? Looks to me like I'm drawing a screen way bigger
than 1024x768 in the framebuffer. This is a virgin install (ie. I've
not configured anything - still have 4 virtual desktops w/4desks each)
Does anyone have a way to kickstart gfx perfomance? All I really need
are 4 desks.
thanks again,
sean
