window gravity (??)

hi,
i quite like the winlist, but having it at the bottom of my screen makes
me feel winsick. i want it at the top, but to stop it obscuring taskbars i
need to make my windows nest from the bottom right corner.
is this window gravity, which defaults to the northwest (+0+0) corner? i
can't find it in any configuration files or default settings. i'd love to
set it to southwest instead, but don't know how.
(wouldn't it be nice if SmartPlacement took *extra* care never to obscure
AS modules like winlist, wharf etc if they were flagged as StaysVisible -
so menus and the like didn't get trapped behind a StaysOnTop item either?)
cheers
chris
