In ~/GNUstep/Library/AfterStep/database add this:
	Style	"x11amp"	Icon x11amp.xpm, NoTitle, NoHandles
		   \_CLASS name		\	  \	    \_ the btm bar
					 \	   \_the top bar
					  \_choose your own

Disconnect your PC speaker :) but seriously, depends on your term.  I use
Eterm and it is a command line switch:
	-v, --visual-bell  ---  visual bell
I pressume this does it, but I rarely make my term beep at me :), so I
don't use this option.  Check out the man page for your term.
