Start menu

Hi.
I checked the http://www.via.ayuda.com/~smw/afterstep/configs/index.html
pages, they are very nice for beginners. There is a problem though. In those
pages it is mentioned that the start menu that appears with left click is set
up by removing files and folders under the ~/GNUstep/Library/AfterStep/start
folder. However, i have configured my menu through the
non-configurable/tmp/startmenu file. The start folder though doesn't reflect
the changes i have made. Why is that so? I login as root and change the whole
users prefs menu, through /usr/share/afterstep...
