1.4.5 broken?

I just downloaded 1.4.5, I had formerly used Afterstep 1 and configured it
with a .steprc.  Now, I have no .steprc (now afterstep doesn't use it?).
How do I change the start menu?  None of the stuff works because the paths
are wrong (netscape, for example).  How do I fix this?  Can someone please
explain how to use this new version?
