Making isonc and stuff with AfterStep

I would like to know how to make icons and stuff. I saw the directions on 
how to do that stuff with something called Wharf. Is Wharf the thing down 
in the corner that I click on to open an xterm window and shutdown 
Xwindows? I just need someone to point me in the right direction on where 
to get more info on AfterStep.
