I'm not sure if yours is the same problem as mine, but I also use the ps2
mouse(from mouse systems) and couldn't get it to work at the first try.
What one of my friend did to help me out this situation was to modify the
source and rebuild it again. Only thing he did was to uncomment a
line(take the # off),
#define INITIALIZE_DEVICE
which appears in the fairly first part of the file;
/usr/src/linux/drivers/char/psaux.c
After doing this, rebuild your kernel again following the normal
procedure. This might work with your case too, but can't guarantee.
