2 questions for afterstep

I would like to ask 2 questions about afterstep.

1. Why does my backspace key work as a delete
key instead of destructive backspacing only in afterstep ?

2. My xterm and xiterm display a "bash" prompt in afterstep.
Is there any way to display the standard Linux shell prompt
that identifies the current working directory ?

Other than the two problems above, AfterStep works great !
The Wharf is easy to program, and all the applications seem
to work fine !

Any help with the above problems will be greatly appreciated.
