Hi,
I hope this is the right place to ask these questions. If not, please
direct me to another source.
I downloaded AS 1.4.5.0 and applied the patches with the command:
pach -p0 < patch_file
AfterStep1450-to-1451.patch
AfterStep1451-to-1453.patch
AfterStep1453_1454.patch
(I found that it was peculier that I had to rename the AS directory for
each patch..) The last patch (1453-1454) didn't find some files even
though the files were there.
(e.g. AfterStep-1.4.5.3/afterstep/start/Modules/-\ FTP\ to\ ...)
My guess was that it was because "patch" didn't recognize the filenames
with spaces. (although this didn't happen with the first two patches)
Did I do something wrong here..? (I think it would be great to have some
howto on patching appropriately..)
So, I stopped the patch process after the first two patches..(no AS is at
version 1453) and compiled-installed it.
The both steps when without a hitch, but it forgets to create some of the
configuration files in: ~/GNUstep/Library/Afterstep/
There is only one directory called "non-configurable" with its default
desk*/ directories..
With 1.4.0, it created several config files like: autoexec.*bpp, pager,
wharf, start/, etc...
Where are these config files and directories? If this is normal? where
can I get the config files.. so that I can modify them according to the
way I had with AS 1.4?
I tried just movinge the files over from my old AS 1.4 directory.. but
that didn't work..(pager didn't show up, and sometimes.. afterstep just
hung)
thanks in advance for the help,
Dennis
