Hi everyone,
I contacted to VLUG (Victoria Linux Users Group) in Victoria, BC
(Canada) has offered to host the afterstep.org site.
I used to be a member of the VLUG, before I moved to Lindsay,
Ontario, so I thought they'd be good people to check out.
Enclosed are the two messages that I recieved from Chris Halsall
(President of VLUG). Basically, he says that VLUG could host the
site, and that they already host www.linux.ca. In his second mail, he
notes that location is an issue, and he's looking in to it, and that
if VLUG could not, CSP Internet could.
So, we have a new home for the afterstep.org server. Please don't
contact Chris yourselves, I'll talk to him, as I'm already exchanging
email with him. If and when we do decide to proceed with this, I'll
see if Chris wants to arrange a meeting with some of the AS developers
(in particular, whoever is running the site now? Dave?)
There are mention of some names in the emails that I know
personally, but may provide some confusion. Just to summarize, Gordon
McCague works at UVic, and hosts the server for VLUG. "Ladybug" is
the name of the machine that VLUG runs from, it runs mandrake-6.0 in
case anyone was curious.
Enough of my babbling, a timely response to this would be
appreciated.
-Steven
