Root background and Pager

Hello everyone.
I'm kind of new to the Linux and AfterStep so maybe this message is
sent not on the right address.
Anyway here it is :
I recently run into a problem trying to use non-XPM image for root
background. I took a look into a Pager sources and discovered that this
functionality was not really implemented, and some minor bugs and
memory leaks were in place. So I took a liberty and wrote a fix.
It is also extending pager's functionality by enabling it to use
different images for the root background and Pager's desktop window.
( for instance large image of beautiful mountain as the root and scaled
down version of the same thing in Pager ).
I've uploaded two patches( for 1.4.5 and 1.5pre6 ) to the
ftp.AfterStep.org. so feel free to use it and send me comments and
angry problem reports at sashav@sprintmail.com.
Now the questions for developers.
Are there any development source archive on the net were one can get
current development code ?
Are you guys using any revision control stuff ? if no then who's
resposible for source merging ?
Are you guys wellcomes any help from strangers like me , or you are
closed community? 'cose I'd like to continue writing stuff for
AfterStep,
maybe something like background rotation and easy configuration stuff.
I'd really appreciate some answer with comments from AfterStep
developers crowd.
Thanks
Sasha.
