I don't know what to edit. Someone else told me to 
delete those files. I hope they will be automatically
recreated the next time I start gnome. 

I'm not at the computer in question right now, but
I'll try the "delete" method first. If that doesn't
work, then I might need some tips on where to get the
defaults for those files.
