[As-users] aterm doesn't respond to request to change title bar

I recently upgraded my Fedora Core 2 to Fedora Core 3. My aterm
(v0.4.0) started behaving improperly when used by mutt to display
mail. Succeeding pieces of mail did not completely overwrite the
previous display of mail.
I went to tigr's site and got v0.4.2, built and installed it, and it
behaves properly in that respect. But now it doesn't respond to the
PROMPT_COMMAND='echo -ne "\033]0;${USER}@${HOSTNAME%%.*}:${PWD/#$HOME/~}\007"'
in my /etc/bashrc. What that does (at least in a normal xterm) is put
the user, hostname, and current directory in the title bar, and
therefore, also in the winlist. It's really pretty handy.
So I went for the new v1.00.beta2 and found it behaves the same way.
Has that function been removed from aterm?
Cheers,
