Nonetheless produces 

Background image support :
    AfterImage library:
    supporting image format libraries:
               without AfterStep MyStyles support

I have all of AfterStep installed (I think!); Nov 14 CVS.

Any idea what I'm not doing, or what it's not finding?  The libs are in
/usr/X11R6/lib (and the headers in /usr/X11R6/include).
