Mouse wheel on wharf. Bug or misfeature?

Would it be hard (please!) to remove wharf reaction to mouse wheel equal to 
LMB? I have a very lightly running mousewheel and today I closed my X with 
quite a few apps running and work unsaved, because I moved my mouse over the 
"Quit" button on Wharf. I don't use Quitform, just Quit because I rather don't 
click accidentially on things I didn't intend to click - but I didn't expect 
touching the wheel when mousing over Quit could be so harmful...
