I upgraded my original box to find out that now this TOO does not have
transparency working anymore. So I thought it was a bug in the debian build.
So I did some research.
Turns out the latest version of aterm (0.4.2) has a bug where -tr doesn't have
any effect if:
- you use -sh
- or if backgroundType resource is set
The bug was already submitted to the debian package maintainer, BUT I compiled
the STRAIGHT SOURCE from the aterm website and found the same behavior.
Transparency works fine for me if I don't use -sh, but fails otherwise. More
information on this bug can be found here:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=135863&repeatmerged=yes
I find this rather saddening since I only recently switched to aterms, and did
so mostly because of the nice psuedo transparency....
