Problems pulling a window off the pager

Since I upgraded my machine from RedHat 7.2 to 7.3, I'm having
problems pulling windows from the pager to the current screen (using
mouse-2 in drag-and-drop fashion).  When I release the mouse button
with the window at the desired location, it retreats to the right side
of the screen with the two left title-bar buttons just visible to the
left of the pager.

I have AfterStep-1.8.11-1 and XFree86-4.2.0-8 installed.

On a presumably unrelated note, I find that the slide out drawers in
the wharf move kind of herky-jerky fashion, in and out.  But that
doesn't bother me as much as the above problem.

Any ideas?
