this is a well-timed thread, actually, as i've just set up a dual head
using an nvidia card with their twinview drivers - it works like Xinerama
in that it just pretends there's a single wide display.

i'm guessing there's no way of articifically subdividing the view in order
to get edge resistance between screens without hacking the source, is
there?
