I have had a problem a couple of time, while using a
windoz X server (X-Deep 32) That the decorations
(arrows and X and - etc in teh title bar) disappear
and I loose control of the session. I runn teh
Xsession full screen. I am using AS 1.8.1 on RedHat
6.1. I thought I'd be clever and kill AS and then
restart AS hoping to keep all my sessions alive. Well
normal kill would not kill it, so I did kill -9 on AS.
That did it, but when I went to restart AS it said it
could not start because another windows manager was
already running. I assume this is because AS could
not clean up after itself with a kill -9.
My question is, well I have two. First, any
suggestions on how to bring my X session back under
control. Two, how can I do a restart session with out
the GUI working? ie from the command line? Opps, and
third, how does a window manager know if another
window manager is running?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
