xconsole starts minimized

I am running Afterstep 1.8.1 on Debian 2.1 (slink) w/ kernel 2.2.14. The
problem I have is that whenever Afterstep starts, the xconsole is
minimized. How can I avoid it being started minimized? I want the window
up on startup.
