compiling error

hi:

I am new on AfterStep. I am trying to compile this on solaris 2.6 x86 and got
following error when I was in ./configure period:

................
checking for uname... yes
checking for gethostname... yes
checking for XOpenDisplay in -lX11... yes
checking for libXpm... ./configure: test: argument expected

any help will be greatly appreciated.
