Hello,
Now that the list seems to be working again, I can post a few questions.
I recently switched to using aterm (v0.3.6) instead of xterm, and I have
a few questions about that. I do hope this is the right place for
them...
1. I seem to have trouble getting the Home and End keys work in Mutt (an
email program) in an aterm. Everything was fine when I was using
xterms, but apparently something is different between the two. What's
strange is that apparently I can get (eg.) PageUp and PageDown working,
and even shifted Del/Home/End work, but for some reason the characters
produced by Home/End don't work in Mutt. The key bindings in Mutt
should be correct... I'm not sure whether this is a Mutt or aterm
problem, but I wasn't able to get much help from anyone of the Mutt
users.
I *am* able to bind the Home/End keys in less, so I guess it's a Mutt
problem, but any suggestions would still be welcome.
2. How do I change the color of the scroll bar for aterms? I didn't see
any configuration directive for that in the aterm configuration. But
I'm not sure if it's maybe an AfterStep setting I should be looking
for, actually... In any case, my desktop theme is quite dark, and I'd
like to have the scrollbars somewhat darker gray than what they are by
default.
3. I'd like to have transparent windows with the background image
showing throug, but darkened/dimmed. Currently my settings are:
Aterm*transparent: true
Aterm*tinting: White
Aterm*shading: 70
This works fine for my normal background (simple dark gray paper
texture, Back.xpm), but when I change background to something else,
the aterms retain the original background texture. What's more, even
new aterms have the old background image showing in the background.
This isn't a big problem (I don't change background images that often),
but it seems strange. Also, I'm wondering what are good shading values
to use, what are others using?
Thanks,
Mikko
