Well, at first I thought you might be right, but at a closer look I do
have X header files installed, eg.
/usr/X11R6/include/X11/X.h
... exists, as does a bunch of
/usr/X11R6/lib/lib*.{a,so}
... files (that came with the developement package, not standard X).
I don't really need to get this compiled for myself but I'm willing to
experiment and try different things if you AS folks want to see AS
compiling on Debian. :-) But, I don't have any ideas... Hmm, maybe I
should look at the configure output and see what it says as the
location of X header files.
