I can reproduce this by changing my hardware clock (trying to get GMT time ;-):
(su - ...)
~> date -s <new hour>
~> clock -w
Then afterstep doesn't know who it is : my clic-to-focus feel doesn't focus
anymore, until I restart the session.
(RH6.0, kernel 2.2.10, AS 1.6.10 rpm, custom feel)

I didn't tried that, but I had to stop wharf because my dock wmtime locked if I
changed the hw clock while running it.
