Pager problems.

I'm running AfterStep 1.7.114, on FreeBSD 3.1 (soon to be 3.2).

and, I can't change my background image with the 
startmenu.  I'm using the completely default configuration, 
and when I pick an Image from the Desktop/Pictures menu, nothing 
happens.  except, if I restart afterstep, it'll change the background
to the one I last selected... 
I'm also watching afterstep's stderror, and there are no error 
messages of any kind.
