Starting aterm on a specific desktop

I've been trying to come up with a way to start several aterms
simultaneously on a specific desktop and a specific 'pane' on that
desktop. I've had a couple of thoughts, but they were all caveman like
in nature.
I find myself everytime I start X opening several aterms doing the same
commands each time. For instance:
Start aterm. 'tail -f /var/log/messages'
Start another aterm. 'tail -f /var/log/secure'
Start another aterm. 'elm'
Seems like each time I start X I do some of the same things over. Is
there a better way to handle this with AfterStep ?
Another question. I know you can use "Style "Netscape" StartsOnDesk 2"
in the database file. But can you direct Netscape to start in a
particular 'pane' on that desktop ?
TIA,
Mike
