I have a detailed response on this.  I'll go and find it and then mail it
to you direct, plus some stuff on startx.  Meantime, rename ~/GNUstep to
~/GNUstep.old and run startx.  AfterStep'll create a new ~/G/L/A - then
you can compare the new one to the old one.
