Blue window backgrounds?

Hello all,
 
Recently got AS installed and working under Solaris 2.6. All the AS applets 
look and work right. The AS xterm window looks good -- but my existing (CDE) 
applications are displayed with funny colors. All window backgrounds are blue, 
menu bars are blue and the menu text is blue! What gives? How do I make my 
existing applications follow the AS look?
