Here is your problem. You say you have AfterStep 1.6.10-1, and
with this rpm, the "share" directory is under /usr/local/share/afterstep/.
It appears you are trying to modify the wrong directory. When upgrading
rpm packages, you should always use 'rpm -uvh'; but with the rpms of AS,
the share is kept from the previous version.
