Two questions : startmenu and keyboards

Hello everybody ...

two questions :

1) is there a way of updating my startmenu from a shell script? I am using the
asWhisky, asVodka ...  scripts to fetch the last news from slashdot and
freshmeat and put them on my root startmenu, and I have to manuallly update the
menu everytime.

2) does anybody here use some wharf app to switch keyboard
maps? I got the WM nonLock dock app but it didn't worked for me.

I am using AfterStep 1.6.6-3
