Just a word of caution about menus, Paul.  First, any changes you make to 
the start directory-tree are _not_  immediately in your menu.  You have to 
run the "Update Startmenu" menu option to make the changes take effect. 
 Second, if you create a local start directory the shared directory-tree 
will be ignored, even if your local start directory is completely empty. 
 If you want to create a local start directory, copy the entire start 
structure from /usr/local/share/afterstep/start and then make your changes.
