Another Pager quirk?

With AS 1.7.49 (very cool)
I can't seem to get the pseudo-transparent background for a *swallowed* Pager:
background is always black. I use a single 3x3 desk. When I engage
*PagerTransparent with either "0" as desk, or simply no desk number, it shows
up transparent on the root window okay, but as soon as it gets swallowed, I get
the black back. If I don't use transparency, then I get the usual root graphic
as pager background.

Any clues?
