ascd problems

Hello,

My ascd's not showing up in my wharf ever since I upgraded to kernel
2.2.1.  So, I tried to invoke it by just typing 'ascd' and I get this
error message:
[root@HAL riprock]# ascd
/dev/cdrom: No medium found       

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.
