As I like to say, 'gnome is not even gnome compliant'. Okay, let
me first say something here --> These are my opinions and do not
necessarily reflect those of the entire AfterStep community/development
team/groupd of coders/etc/etc. <-- There, now ... gnome is nice and all,
but it requires totaly alpha (sure call it devel, but it's alpha!)
libraries (gtk+ et. al.), and gnome itself is really alpha. Therefore
making something "compliant' with alpha sotwae is just really too much to
ask. Look at the gtk apps - it's almost a full time job to keep track of
all the old/new functions that appear and disappear in gtk+.
And from what I have heard, Gnome's requirements aren't even set
in stone - they were just rushed out the dorr so someone could tout "We're
gnome-compliant" ... and what does that really mean? Nothing of gnome,
other than the panel actually works or has any real-world applications.
Well, this has turned into a rant so as I said before ..yadda
yadda .. when it happens, you'll now. Thanks for listening, take care,
and as always - these are just opinions. :)
