This is due to differences in Swallow behaviour of the Wharf. Try:
*Wharf aspostit nil Swallow "aspostit" aspostit -geometry 48x48 &

wmmon sets the window title to the name of the executable as it is
run from the command-line. You most probably run it as
/usr/local/bin/wmmon and then the name of the window will
be "/usr/local/bin/wmmon" too. Either run it as 'wmmon' if
it is in the path or tell Wharf to swallow a different title:
*Wharf wmmon - MaxSwallow "/usr/local/bin/wmmon" /usr/local/bin/wmmon &
