Control V (^v) being trapped in xterms.

Hi,

Control V (^v) being trapped in xterms meaning, if I'm in vi and
typing something like :1,$ s/^v^m//g it does not work *only*
in afterstep.  If I switch back to fvwm it works fine.

Any idea how to correct this?
