Suggestions about RPM packages

I have a suggestion about the RPMs packages from the official site.
Why is not the spec file included in the official distribution? To
create a rpm (libc5, glibc, whatever) is so easy as
rpm -ba AfterStep.spec. The current spec file is so small as 5876 bytes
uncompressed. The further advantages are:
1) you do not need to keep as many rpm as many compilers, libcs
available.
2) It is easy to apply a (urgent) patch and recreate a RPM from the
spec.
3) We can easily to configure Afterstep as we wish (and not be locked to
the packager options).
