[the continuing story of the ascp download]
//So...you're using Navigator under Windows, saving it on the
///windows partition, then going into Linux, copying it to a
//linux native partition, then trying the gunzip?
Yep, that's what I do, and this works with everything,
except ASCP and the icons.themes.org.
//After you copy the file to the linux partition, make sure the
//filename ends in .tgz. Also, do a `file ascp-0.9.3.tgz` and make
//sure it's something sensible.
I do that too. (The file command returns something like "nothing
appropriate" or words to that effect, have to look into
that).
I mean, I heave been using linux for years, been downloading
for years, and never had any problems, except for now with
the ASCP control-panel. I have no idea if I can check the file
already on the windows-site. Is there a gunzip for windows?
Anyway, I will try again in two weeks (should be ascp 0.9.5 by then)
because I'll be going to Australia for two weeks tomorrow.
(just to make you all jealous).
