I'm not sure who was asking for a wharf app to run xmodmap and display 
a pixmap according to the state, but this is for you.

asexec 1.1 is available on ftp.afterstep.org:

ftp://ftp.afterstep.org/apps/asexec

asexec is a state machine which displays a pixmap according to its current 
state and can execute commands when changing states.  Possible triggers for 
changing states are: pressing a button in the asexec window, entering it, 
leaving it, and/or a timeout.  asexec can also swallow other windows, like 
wharf can.
