configure on 1.5pre9, Solaris x86 2.6

Hi there! I'm having some problems with configure and I'm wondering
if I'm the only one. When I get to the point where I can specify my
path, I get this:

-n #1.    Do you want to change install path (n): 
y

Installation:
--------------------------------------------------------------------

-n * Install afterstep binaries in (/usr/local/bin): 
/usr/openwin/bin
./configure: !: not found

What is up here? include/configure.h shows all the defaults; none of
my responses are recorded. Thanks in advance!
