Strange crash (BUG?) !!!

Hi,
I had an extremely strange crash(-ish) while I was away from my PC. I
was inside AfterStep and connected to my ISP. The following
applications were open: TkDesk, Netscape Navigator, and Netscape Mail &
Discussions, as well as wmmon, wmifs, wmppp, wmcdplay, asmixer, wharf,
and pager (as a module from autoexec).
While I was in another room I heard my modem re-dial. I returned to my
room to see why it was re-dialing. To my surprise AfterStep had
disappeared (all the apps as well) and in its place was ugly old FVWM!
I hit Alt+F7 ... the only message there was that a SIGPIPE had occurred,
nothing else, no more information than that.
In ~/.AfterStep-errors I found 408,350 lines containing "heyho!" ... now
what the $%@# is that?!!! Then the next 10 lines were "/usr/bin/play:
/dev/audio: Device or resource busy", and then the last line was
"xterm: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) or KillClient on X server
":0.0"".
Everything is fine now ... I hope. But I can't for the life of me
figure out what went wrong, or why sounds were trying to play (and
failing) while I was away from the PC. Any ideas/consolations?
BTW, I am using 1.4.5.55N6 w/ RedHat 5.0.
PS. A comment to the coders: "heyho! is not a very intuitive error
message".
